Since I had a Groupon to Rosemary’s Restaurant about to expire before we would both be in town together to use it, and we also never really got a Valentine’s Day dinner together, we decided to get all fancied up and splurge! I’ve been wanting to try Rosemary’s for years now. It’s definitely the type of place we can only frequent maybe once a year, but boy it was worth it! It’s always so nice to have a special meal and it will definitely be one I will remember for a long time! (more…)

Lupo Restaurant
It is definitely the holiday season, and while I’m not too entirely prepared, Chris and I did finally get some Christmas decorations up the other night. Better late than never I guess, right? And what ever made me think that I would have some substantial time to work on my thesis over the holidays, I was sorely mistaken! There’s lots of shopping, prepping, and setting up get-togethers with good friends and family in town. I certainly can’t turn down a great meal with family! Last night we had dinner at a restaurant called Lupo in the Mandalay Bay. It was delicious and one of those nicer meals that make you smile. (more…)

weekend of friends
Whew, where has the time gone? I apologize for being MIA lately, but life has come along and shifted my time away from the blog. It’s sure is tough fitting it all in as you guys all know, but I’m hanging in there and doing my best to maintain this little corner of the blogosphere that I enjoy so much. I know that posting regularly is the best for readership, but it just doesn’t quite work that way for me now =/ and sometimes there is nothing like a weekend full of good times and good friends. staycation at The M Resort
Many times taking a full vacation out of town is not always feasible or affordable, so to celebrate our 4th anniversary Chris and I decided to have a mini staycation at the M Resort! It’s fairly close to us, easy to get to, and is a beautiful hotel. It’s also not too far from the Strip either, but we kind of like being off the hustle and bustle of the strip ‘looking in’ from afar. It turned out to be a quick trip, and I wanted to stay longer of course, but it was fun and gave us a little break time together. (more…)

baby shower + weeds
Yes, that is a strange combination, but this weekend I was mostly busy prepping and planning for a friend’s baby shower, as well as catching up on season 5 of Weeds. Oh my gosh!! That show is ca-razy! Does anyone else watch it? We don’t have Showtime, but the season premiere is starting and I sure wish we did! I guess while we’re on the topic to tv shows, I’m also super excited about the start of ‘It’s Always Sunny’ in September. That show is pretty crazy funny too. Honestly, I don’t watch that much tv because it takes so much time and once I fall into our old, dilapidated couch I can’t seem to pry myself up. I’d rather not get stuck if I can help it, but every once in awhile it’s fun to get lost in a fictional story where the lives of the characters are much more crazy, twisted and down right funnier than mine. Read on, there’s lots of pasta salad and mini cupcakes to be made! (more…)

birthday dinner at nora’s + a winner!
I completely spaced that I was going to announce the winner of my reGen giveaway! oopsie. I also had to work on Saturday, so it’s been a little busy. The weekend is coming to an end once again, so I’ll do a quick re-cap of randomness and share a nice dinner we had a Nora’s Wine Bar for a friend’s birthday. (more…)

more great eats + saying goodbye
I had to save these last two mouth-watering meals for their own post because Chris and I enjoyed them that much. It’s so neat to visit a restaurant and really taste the quality and care in the food. Yes, there is amazing food in front of you, but it somehow transforms into an overall experience that is so much more than just the food. That is what I truly love! But before we get to the good eats, we first had to make one last stop at another one of our favorite wineries called Pride. They not only have a great tour, but some pretty spectacular views as well. (more…)

recovery day
The day after the century I was feeling pretty good but stiff and just wanted to have a low-key day to relax and recover. We decided not to have any wine, drink lots of water, and I also surprised Chris with our first sports massage! It was glorious, like a giant custom foam roller all over the body. I told the gal not to go too deep, so it wasn’t too painful 🙂 Plus I didn’t want to be even more sore afterwards. I could definitely get used to having one of these more often if they weren’t so dang pricey! (more…)

birthday kind of a day
Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I was definitely feeling the love 🙂 It was a pretty low key day, being that it was during the week and I had to work, but overall it was a great day and I couldn’t complain! When I got home from work I about started to whip something up for dinner, but I decided to ask Chris first, and he replied with a . . . No! 🙂
When I heard the garage door, I came downstairs to a birthday bag and a smiling Chris. I wasn’t really expecting what I ended up grabbing out of the bag, but kind of gave him a look of ‘what the heck?’ and then I started cracking up laughing (more…)
