Lupo Restaurant

It is definitely the holiday season, and while I’m not too entirely prepared, Chris and I did finally get some Christmas decorations up the other night.  Better late than never I guess, right?  And what ever made me think that I would have some substantial time to work on my thesis over the holidays, I was sorely mistaken!  There’s lots of shopping, prepping, and setting up get-togethers with good friends and family in town.  I certainly can’t turn down a great meal with family!  Last night we had dinner at a restaurant called Lupo in the Mandalay Bay.  It was delicious and one of those nicer meals that make you smile.

We started out with a bread stick of some sorts, more like a giant stick that you have to wack to break apart (hi-ya!), but it was something to munch on none the less.  There was also some basil oil and white bean puree for dipping.

I’m not usually a fan of calamari, but these were very tasty and tender.

Chris had a great bowl of farro and white bean soup that was phenomenal, but I didn’t grab a shot of it 🙁

I had the salmon, which was cooked to perfection.  Nice and crispy on the outside with a tender inside.  I was in heaven!  That heap of spinach put a big smile on my face too 🙂

Chris had the mushroom fettuccine, which he said was delish, although he liked my salmon better.

It’s always so fun to get to try new restaurants and enjoy a great meal.  While it was on the pricey side, and I don’t think we’ll be able to go back, it was very tasty!

With all this holiday indulgence, it’s important to remember to enjoy every bite, but just don’t go overboard!  Keep active and listen to that tummy saying ‘whoa I’m full now’.

Tonight, we’re heading to a local wine bar with some friends for some dinner and wine tasting.  Should be fun!

I hope you are enjoying your holiday time 🙂

  6. The holiday season came up so quickly this year! I just got all my shopping done, thanks to etsy, though. Love internet shopping vs. battling the crowds!

Lupo sounds like a great place to eat. I agree with the holiday moderation advice, too. The best restaurant meal I had was at Mia & Grace, a local place with amazing food!

  7. Looks like a great meal. I never tried that restaurant before. We had an awesome meal at Alize once but then the next year it was awful, and at $100 for the lobster it was not worth it the second time (we had a 20% discount for a repeat visit for my birthday which is why we went back). I really like Blue Fin in NYC and I think that restaurant is on my mind since my aunt went there last night. It is awesome. Around here I love Sabores do Chef because their lobster is not only better than the one I had at Alize, it is way cheaper at almost $30. Have a great holiday.
