Chris celebrated his 26th birthday this Friday! Most Fridays we head to a favorite little restaurant called Carlito’s Burritos that has some great New Mexican cuisine and is fairly cheap. I also talked about this great place in my weekend of friends post. Even though I had to get there a bit early to find a table, it’s a great place to hang out, have some killer, spicy food, and celebrate a birthday of the one you love with friends!
Their fajitas are the bomb and only $5 on Fridays
And boy the green chilis were hot that night!!! whew, most of us were sweating our booties off and loving every bite.
Once we got done with dinner, the mariachi headed over and started singing some tunes to Chris, while I got this out . . .

Chris had a blast!
And then I brought this bad boy out from Layers Bakery. Love that place!
A banana cake, filled with peanut butter mousse and enveloped in a dark chocolate ganache. Boy it was rich!
Everyone else enjoyed it too 🙂

This morning I managed a great 52 mile ride and my knee wasn’t all too bad! It’s still getting tight, but it was a lot better this ride and I’m feeling stronger. It’s amazing how fast the time flies with training rides though. Pretty soon before you know it and the day is gone. 3 hours 10 minutes just riding time for this one, not counting stops and lights and refueling and getting ready. It is a major time commitment and I’m just trying to hang in there and get everything done without going too insane. Haven’t even started thinking about Christmas! ack!
Tomorrow I’m going to be cheering on Kristen the SwankyDietitian for her first 1/2 marathon!!! I know she’s going to rock it!

Sounds like a great birthday bash. Is Layer’s new? The cake looks without a doubt to be the most indulgent thing I have ever seen, or at least seen this week.

Love fajitas to a dangerous level. I always thought it would be fun to have a taco bar at my wedding… probably not great for the white dress.

Ever since reading your post about your POM party I’ve been obsessed with pomegranates!! I am adding them to EVERYTHING!
Happy B-day to Chris (he’s a young one!). The cake looks so good. I want to reach into the computer and scrape that excess icing from the sides. I love that stuff!
