My Fitness Diary
While I’ve been dancing for most my life and have taken tons of fitness classes, I’ve decided to change it up a bit by trying out running, cycling and hopefully swimming in the future. Running is a completely different animal!! I’ve only worked up to a couple 5k races, but hope to aspire to completing a sprint triathlon and a metric century (62 mile) bike ride in the near future . . . stay tuned!
Here are some race recaps:
Turkey Trot (November 2009)
- 3.1 miles in 28:34
Chefs For Kids 5k (January 2010)
- 3.1 miles in 27:57, placed 2nd in my age group . . progress!
My fiance Chris also enjoys cycling and staying active, check out some of his race recaps:
***He’s getting ready to ride in the Tour de Cure Century for the American Diabetes Association April 10th! Yay!

Currently I am training for the Echelon Gran Fondo May 23rd in Napa. The money I raise will go to support LiveStrong the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. I know many of us have been afflicted with this terrible disease in our own families and I am honored to help in this fight. My grandpa has had 4 different types of cancer and thankfully he has been able to battle through each one and remains cancer free to this day. It’s such a terrible thing to go through. Money will also go to local hospitals to support and enhance cancer treatment services. If you or someone you know is diagnosed, these resources will help face the challenges of cancer, head on.
This will be such a great and empowering experience. I will be riding for my grandpa. It will really be a team effort, meaning each and every one of you too! Our team goal is to raise$3,000 total and I’m confident that we can meet that goal with your help.
You can go to my donation page or I also have a spot on the sidebar that will take you there as well. The site will now allow you to donate in increments as low as $5, yay! Thank you very much
