Almost Famous Chef Competition!

Do you love watching cooking shows for hours on end?  Experimenting in the kitchen? Learning all you can about the exciting world of culinary arts?  . . . . Want to witness top culinary students battle it out for the chance to be titled as one of the best?

Heck yes!!

The San Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef Competition to be held in Las Vegas, NV on February 4th and Napa on March 7th, gives top culinary students from around the world a chance to showcase their skills to top chefs, culinary experts and media, and the opportunity to win cash and a paid apprenticeship with a top chef to jumpstart their career!

How cool would that be to attend and witness all the action?

Join local media and culinary experts to watch the culinary students from the mountain region and Mexico prepare their signature dishes while sitting in on the action in the kitchen, and you’ll be able to weigh in with your opinion.  At the March 7 finals competition in Napa, join top chefs and food editors from top epicurean media channels such as Food & Wine Magazine and the Today Show to watch finalists from 11 regions around the world to compete for the People’s Choice award.

I would LOVE to attend this event because I adore everything culinary!!  As a registered dietitian, it is a great passion of mine to experiment in my own kitchen, try new ingredients and taste new wines, and to share wholesome recipes with others.  I thoroughly enjoy watching the organized chaos in the kitchen when I go out to eat, and I relish in the intricate detail and presentation of amazing food experiences.  I would absolutely love to go to culinary school in the future.  I am a Las Vegas local, and while I don’t get to eat out that often, the local dining scene here is quite extraordinary to say the least!  This would be such a wonderful opportunity to share with my readers and I would enjoy every moment in Las Vegas or Napa!!!

With the limited time frame, I would contact local Whole Foods and other merchants to help spread the word about this once in a life time event.  I would also contact our local KNPR news radio or news station to see if they could dedicate air time for a short media segment.  I would utilize other modes of social media like Facebook and Twitter as well.

The San Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef Competition sounds like an amazing experience NOT to be missed!!!

Please help spread the word and maybe, just maybe I’ll get to go and represent!!!

For all my Tweet Peeps simply tweet:  ‘Let’s send @eatingRD to the @foodbuzz / S. Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef Competition!!’

Many Thanks!

  4. Ok now, if you come up to Napa, you have to stop by and see us! 🙂 This stuff is fun to watch. Did Chris ever tell you about the time we got to watch our friend Don’s team practice in one of the kitchens at Ceasars Palace, and then we went to the competition the next day at the MGM? If not, ask him about the guy who said Soy Beans are the next big thing (this was like 7-8 years ago mind you), and the other guy he got to give him free stuff about Mozzarella. Ahhh, good times.

  6. Yup, he still teaches, and has a team of students he puts together every semester. I see him from time to time when I work on our satellite campus, it shares the same building with the culinary school he teaches at. 🙂 I think they are even opening one in Reno, he mentioned it to me last time I ran into him.
